HISTORY of LEADERSHIP SCHOLARS
Leadership Scholars, Inc., headquartered in Cincinnati, OH, became an officially registered non-profit corporation in the state of Ohio on February 14, 2007. The idea for the Leadership Scholars Program was initially developed by Harry H. Santen (President) and James E. Evans (Chairman) in 2003. While volunteering at St. Francis Seraph, Santen noticed that the students who excelled academically lacked any sort of enrichment program that could help them reach greater heights. In February of 2007, James E. Evans and Harry Santen added Dr. Patricia L. White (Vice President) and H. Nick Ragland, III (Vice President, Treasurer) to the Board of Directors, on account of their exceptional experience, enthusiasm, and passion for leadership education. Then, the Board hired Tracy T. Moore II as the Executive Director for the Program. In spring of 2008, Jennifer G. Williams was added to the Board of Directors, and Matthew S. Cohen was hired as the Director of Education.
